Brinc Drones raises $125M in Series B

Seattle-based Brinc Drones has secured $125 million in a Series B funding round led by Motorola Solutions, marking a significant step in its mission to supply emergency responders with 911 response drones. The funding will enable Brinc to increase manufacturing capacity, develop new products, and expand its workforce, as it prepares to move into a larger headquarters and production facility in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood.

The fundraising represents a strategic boost for Brinc amid shifting market conditions, particularly as federal restrictions increasingly limit Chinese-made drones in the U.S. Brinc's products, which include the Lemur 2 and Guardian drones, offer domestic alternatives for police and fire departments. The company reports that its revenue more than tripled in 2025, and it has expanded contracts for its drones fourfold this year. Brinc’s drones are utilized by over 900 public safety agencies, including notable clients like the Los Angeles Fire Department and St. Louis Police Department.

Motorola Solutions, which first invested in Brinc during a $75 million round in April 2025, has strengthened its strategic alliance with this latest investment. The two companies have integrated Brinc’s drones with Motorola's public safety communication technologies, enabling seamless emergency response operations. This partnership capitalizes on the growing preference for American-made technology in public safety due to the federal clampdown on overseas competitors, particularly Chinese firm DJI.

Brinc's nearly doubled valuation from $480 million last year reflects the increasing demand and competitive edge it enjoys in the U.S. market. In addition to Motorola, the funding round saw participation from prominent investors such as Figma’s Dylan Field and OpenAI’s Alexandr Wang, underlining confidence in Brinc’s trajectory.

Looking ahead, Brinc plans to expand its team from 187 employees to over 250 as it settles into its new, larger facility. The regulatory environment remains a critical factor, as ongoing legal challenges by DJI and potential further restrictions could alter the landscape. Brinc's focus will be on capitalizing on its U.S. production advantage and scaling its presence in the domestic public safety market.
