Volatus Aerospace acquires Synergy Aviation
Volatus Aerospace Inc. has completed the acquisition of the remaining 41.53% minority stake in Synergy Aviation Ltd., securing full ownership of the company. The deal, finalized with the exchange of 2,444,243 common shares of Volatus, enhances its strategic integration across aviation and aerospace operations.
Initially, Volatus acquired a 51% interest in Synergy in 2022, later raising its stake to 58.47%. With this latest transaction, Synergy becomes a wholly owned subsidiary, streamlining Volatus’s operational framework. This full consolidation aligns with Volatus’s ambitions to scale capabilities across crewed aviation and remote piloted systems.
The acquisition is also significant due to the background of Marc Hanatshek, a Synergy director, whose involvement classified the transaction as “related party” under Multilateral Instrument 61-101 guidelines. The transaction, however, was exempt from certain regulatory requirements as it involved consideration below a specified threshold relative to Volatus's market capitalization.
This move reflects ongoing consolidation trends in the aerospace and defense sector, where companies are increasingly integrating complementary operations. Full control over Synergy allows Volatus to optimize resource allocation and strengthen its service offering in critical areas like surveillance, logistics, and autonomous aerial systems.
As Volatus fully consolidates Synergy’s operations into its broader platform, market watchers will be assessing how effectively the company capitalizes on this expanded operational capacity. The aerospace landscape continues to evolve, with ongoing innovation and strategic mergers shaping competitive dynamics.
